Since prehistoric times, dated between the IV and the III millennium BC, there is a menhir in the place known as the “Pas de les Llebres”. This menhir has a legend known as "The Devil’s Stone", according to which the architect who built the Ceret bridge, finding himself unable to finish the work, agreed with the devil that he would sell his soul if he was able to finish the bridge before midnight. The devil accepted, but when he went to Ceret with the last stone, the twelve bells rang, and the devil collapsed into hell leaving the stone nailed to the ground, where we can now contemplate it. That’s why Ceret Bridge is missing a large stone in one of its buttresses.
It is a good place to go to visit while making the route of the Sant Martí pass to the Mas Olivet, later on there is the menhir and then you can go down following the old road of Tapis. The other option is to make the old road of Tapis and deviate to go to see it and resume the road.
