The Menhir de la Dona Morta is located in the Coll de la Dona Morta, easily accessible on foot from the Corral de la Falgarona or from the Pic del Moixer.
It is a large menhir surrounded by great legends dating from the Middle Ages. According to legend, before Dona Morta the port was called Collada del Cingle Gran.
According to legend, a group of young people from Mas de la Borbolla, during the slaughter of the pigs, spoke of legends. And Martina, a woman who lived in this town, was totally opposed to these theories, because she believed that they were false.
An uncle of Martina defies her: he sells a ram at the Céret market and bets two gold coins that she will not dare, in the middle of the night, to plant an agulada (a stick used to guide oxen) at the Collada del Cingle Gran pass located a few minutes walk from the farm.
Martina accepted the challenge. She left alone, despite her fears. But it turns out that she did not return, and the inhabitants, worried, went to look for her. She was found dead in the driveway. They figured out that she had placed the thorn in her own clothes by mistake and was terrified, believing she was being held by the Devil, who wanted to punish her for not believing the legends.
