The Albera forms the easternmost foothills of the Pyrenees, along with the Balmeta Mountains and the Marenda Coast. Formed by several mountain ranges, mountains and massifs, which separate the counties of Roussillon and Alt Empordà. The mountain border passes are the lowest ones in the Albera.
