The preserved remains of the Santa Maria canonry are located in the north-western sector of the church. The clergy house and the façade feature Romanesque masonry and part of a semi-circular arched door. The 17th and 18th century balconies have Romanesque wrought iron railings. The rooms of the monastery as well as the portioner house, a wing of the clergy house, and the current rectory, with a double Gothic window, were all centred around the old monastery courtyard. Several 17th-century porches are found on the south side of the complex, connected to other previously built porches, which lead to a small courtyard where the cloister once stood. The buildings in this section of the complex preserve remains of pointed vaults and a stretch of Romanesque wall. The canonry was first documented in 1089, when worship and the monastic life (which appears to have started in Visigoth times) were again allowed at the monastery.
Work by the painter Marià Llavanera, from Lladó, dated 1927. It is a painting that is integrated into the Empordà Museum Collection. The image of the town is shown in which the Sant Feliu bell tower stands out and over to the right that of Santa Maria. We also see the representation of some houses in the old town of Lladó with some trees in the foreground. The vegetation evokes a sense of discovery, going from nature to civilization. When looking from a distance, it provides the vision of the integration of nature with urbanity.
Tinc a Lladó les joies del bisbat

la il·lusió d’una parròquia doble.
Vila de plata i branques d’olivera,
i un herbolari savi com Linneu.
Col·legiata antiga i noble seu,
