Double Stone Hut of Rafela | Pla de Vinyers
Local inventory: L-49 | Code Wikipedia: 11,880
Declared Cultural Asset of Local Interest
Interior height: 2.35 m | Inner diameter Ø: 1.60 m
Large simple truncated cone hut, located on a wall head. It is one of the few double stone huts in the Garriga with two consecutive spaces covered with a false vault, connected inside by a doorway with steps and a corridor. As indicated by Jenar Fèlix in The dry stone huts of the Garriga d'Empordà, this hut is made in the likeness of its neighbour L-50 (and, probably, by the same hand) with which it shares the material and several complementary features, such as the eaves on the lintel. It should therefore have the same chronology: first third of the 19th century.
Restoration promoted by Llers Town Council with the support of the Dept. of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia in the framework of the "Subsidies for the execution of works of restoration and conservation of buildings of notable cultural value for the three-year period 2020-2022" and carried out by E.I. Foresterra SCCL.
