These traditionally built huts vary in the type of stone and reveal the skill of their builders. The walls can range from irregular to more evenly lain, depending on the builders' mastery of the technique. Inside, there are niches and "cocós" for storing tools and food. The benches take up part of the base of the vault, made of worked or natural stone. There are other fixtures such as hooks and supports for hanging objects.
The buttresses and crown form the corners of these huts. The façade, the most visible part, is made up of a narrow door topped with a beam or arch. The corridor provides easy access to the beamed interior. Other exterior elements include steps or ramps to reach the roof and spaces for livestock and feeders.
In short, the huts are unique constructions made of a variety of stone and adapted to multiple uses, from tool storage to sheltering livestock.
