Capsa aràbiga
This Arabic box comes from Santa Maria de Lladó and is part of the permanent exhibition on display at the Girona Art Museum. It dates back to the 11th century. It is circular and is covered in fully adorned tinned brass. Some of these drawings are plants and others are animals, including eagles, lions and hares which stand out. It has a ring in the centre of the lid and an inscription in Arabic around it which says: “A blessing from God with prosperity upon its owner”.
