The tower was built in the late 16th century. It originally had three-metre-thick walls topped by battlements and machicolations. The tower was two stories high and had an upper parapet. The ground floor was used as a cistern and the upper floor as the garrison living quarters. It is likely that an exterior wooden walkway was used to access the upper floor. This space was divided into four rooms in the shape of a quarter circle, each with an embrasure for a single weapon. To the left of the door there was an interior staircase leading up to the parapet, which was supported by a half-circle impost that stretched around the tower. The tower was likely destroyed by lightening in the 17th century.
