This lectern-style vantage point, facing north to north-west, offers magnificent views over L’Escala and its port, Sant Martí d’Empúries, the Aiguamolls Natural Park, the Perthus Mountain Pass, Empuriabrava, Roses and Cap Norfeu. The white pine groves, characteristic of many spots on the Costa Brava, usually extend over rocky and steep sectors and along the tops of the cliffs. The contrast between a flat and a rocky littoral forms an irregular coastline with cliffs, small coves and islets. The port and other structures designed to take advantage of the sea show us how L’Escala and many coastal municipalities have experienced life with their links to the sea. The archaeological sites of Roses and Empúries indicate the strong human intervention on the plain since ancient times. It forms part of the Medes Islands, Montgrí and Baix Ter Natural Park.
