The Church of Sant Miquel de Fontfreda, included in the Inventory of Architectural Heritage of Catalonia, is located in the neighborhood of Fontfreda, about four kilometers south of the town of Maçanet de Cabrenys. In the past, religious services took place in the farms of Fontfreda and this is documented as far back as 1115.
It is a single nave Romanesque building with a semi-circular apse. A small wall or bell tower with two openings was built there. The access door is also very simple, with a semicircular arch. Above there was a white marble tombstone currently preserved inside the parish church of Sant Martí; it was replaced by the relief of a cross.
