Destorrent Castle Verified listing

This castle, located near the town of Llers, was the possession of Arnau de Cabrera, who obtained it through his marriage in the 13th century to Berenguera des Torrent, granddaughter of Arnau Roig de Llers. According to the will of Jordi Assalit (Aixelit) from the year 1488, this fortress became dependent on the hospital for the poor of Llers. Formerly known as “d'en Roig”, it was called Destorrent because that was the title held by its lords. It was located above and on the west and north side of the two sources called, one from Pouet and the other from Jordi Aixelit, who was also lord of the same area. Later, the house became the property of Joan Bayés, formerly known as the new Hospital.
