The castle belonging to Sant Llorenç de la Muga is a military building probably with a triangular-shaped floor plan, documented in 1225 and built in the 12th and 13th centuries. Currently, only the Homage Tower and the northern sector of the walls that surrounded it are preserved. The tower, erected in the centre of the enclosure, is square and about ten-metres high with visible crenels. The opus incertum is made of cobblestones and mortar with well-defined square ashlars on the corners. Inside, the stone barrel vault is preserved.
