This portal, possibly from the 13th-14th centuries, was the main entrance to Marzà Castle. It consists of a double semi-circular arch built of well-hewn stone ashlars and retains the opening by the portcullis that was raised or lowered over the entrance to allow or prevent entry into the inner or main courtyards. Following on from the portal is a stretch of road covered with a barrel vault.
