The creation of the Old Schools, also called the Municipal Community Schools, was promoted by the Provincial Council of Girona and the former Municipal Communities of Catalonia (1914-1925). They were built in accordance with the Francesc de Paula Nebot Project between 1914 and 1916 and were used as a school for 80 years. In 1999 the building was transferred to the municipal heritage. After moving the students to the new Quintants School, the school underwent a series of restructures to house the current City Hall, and it was inaugurated on 5 February 2005.

This deposit is a tribute to the years of research and study of the cultural, geological and natural heritage of the municipality which was carried out by this local scholar throughout the 20th century. In this case, it is a collection of molluscs and several specimens of shells and snails. All have their corresponding identifier with their scientific name.
