This is a landscape that has been worked since ancient times, as evidenced by the different slopes with terraces and grazing areas with shepherd's huts. Vineyard and olive cultivation are also quite common in this area, although the abandonment of agricultural areas located in hard-to-reach places and repeated forest fires have created a peculiar landscape. It is also a land of fishermen, as demonstrated by the villages established in coves sheltered from the Tramontana.
The creation of the Cap de Creus Natural Park resolved the issue of urbanization of some sectors of this landscape. However, conflicts such as the regulation of motorized mobility by land and sea or the abandonment of traditional activities become the main challenges.
