This south-facing, lectern-style vantage point offers magnificent views over the Riu Major Valley, the Mare de Déu del Mont Sanctuary and Can Damon. It also allows the scarps and plant formations typical of the area such as Scots pine and evergreen oak woodlands to be observed. It shows us the Alta Garrotxa landscape which is notably mountainous and is densely covered by a forest layer. Most of the hermitages in the area are very simple, framed within the popular Romanesque style, with semi-circular apses and belfries. A good example of this is the Mare de Déu del Roure Sanctuary. It has a complex geomorphology which means it has folds and faults that determine the existence of narrow, boxed valleys and steep slopes with a considerable amount of scree. Open spaces such as pasture areas or crop fields provide a break in the monotony of the woodlands, as well as help reduce the risk of fires. We can spot farmhouses and manors, small Romanesque bridges and military buildings from past times.
