Capsa del s.XV

This piece of art from Sant Miquel de Fluvià is on display at the Girona Art Museum. It is a love chest dating back to the 15th century. It is said to have belonged to the Embriachi workshop, where some Venician artists worked. The box is made of wood and ivory and is about 20 cm long. It is decorated with ornamental motifs, mainly comprising of human figures. These human images face each other and represent various actions, such as conversation. It has a lid that is also beautifully sculpted with a white and brown square-shaped frieze with two angels holding an object in their hands on the top.
