The main building stands on an old structure made of stone vaults that channel a spring into the kitchens before it flowed to the orchards. Inside, the bedrooms and chambers are distributed around a main hall. Also noteworthy is the large, south-facing back door, with turrets and defensive battlements, quite common in the large farmhouses of this border region. A large square tower, with an upper balcony and no apparent defensive purpose, stands on the east side of the farmhouse. Different smaller buildings, constructed this century, complete the set of buildings on the estate. Several general staff members and intellectuals met in this house when the Republican forces withdrew during the Spanish Civil war in 1939. Antoni Rovira i Virgili’s story “Els darrers dies de la Catalunya Republicana (The Last Days of Republican Catalonia)”, was set here.
