This is a passage tomb with a short rectangular chamber and a wider passageway and a small Catalan U-shaped gallery. Its internal dimensions are 1.5 metres long by 1.4 metres wide and 0.95 metres high. It was discovered in 1894 by Lluís Marià Vidal. In 1920, Pere Bosch Gimpera and Lluís Pericot carried out an archaeological excavation documenting the only ceramic fragment (the edge of a hand-made vase) related to the dolmen. Based on its architectural typology, Tarrús (2002) dates it back to the first half of the 3rd millennium BC.
The Quer Afumat Dolmen consists of three pieces of granite and was discovered by local scholar, Lluís Maria Vidal at the end of the 19th century. Typical megalithic monument that was used for funerary offerings and rituals. The photograph taken during the 1990s is part of the Esther Llorenç Collection and is kept in the Alt Empordà Regional Archive. The Quer Afumat Dolmen forms part of the extensive list of megalithic monuments that can be found throughout Alberes. It owes its name to the farmhouse of the same name which is located right next to the dolmen.
