Building dated 1598, according to the inscription on the lintel of the old door, which was moved inside the church. It is currently privately owned. It is likely that the church was built with the stone remains of the former medieval castle of Pelacalç, of which practically no traces remain. The chapel was a suffragan diocese of Santa Maria de l'Om, formerly the parish church of Pelacalç. The church was looted during the War of Separation (1640) and was not repaired. In 1665, the baptismal font was moved to Montiró, and services stopped in 1683. It is now privately owned and used as a warehouse.
