In 1974 a Roman oven was discovered by chance about 100 metres from the monastery. It is a single-chamber vertical oven, with a square-shaped floor plan and a central pillar that supports the grill. It was used to bake pottery for domestic use as well as building materials such as tiles. It operated during the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, in an area close to the Via Augusta and probably near a town which has still not been located. It is the only complete oven in Catalonia.
