The Sant Martí de Peralada Church is documented in 1002 in an epistle from Pope Sylvester II to Bishop Odo, although it more than likely existed before then. Some vestiges of this first period are preserved, although they correspond to various stages of construction. The current appearance of the Sant Martí de Peralada Church corresponds to a reconstruction carried out in the 18th century, although the church has existed since Romanesque times.
