It is believed to have been built at the end of the 16th century or at the beginning of the 17th century. The church was owned by the Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery. The destruction of the southern part of the building, frontispieces and belfry took place in February 1939 when the war materials held inside the church exploded, with all the combustible elements in the church being burnt. The most notable piece seems to have been the main baroque wooden altarpiece, of which the only remaining vestige is the bust of a moose kept in the sacristy.
