This is a Neolithic passage tomb with a long trapezoidal chamber and a narrow corridor, made of shale and built on flat ground, with a gentle north-west to south-east slope. A report on the tomb was first published by Salvador Sanpere i Miquel in 1881. It was excavated in 1920, from 1981 to 1984, and in 1988. There are several engravings on the main roof slab, which is still preserved; the engravings were made by chipping away at the stone, possibly with a tool made from a quartz river stone. The most modern inscription (Roca 1750), on the far right, was made using a hard tool. Based on its architectural style, Tarrús (2002) dates the dolmen to the second phase of the Alt Empordà - Rosselló passage tombs, that is, to the second half of the 4th millennium BC. It was repaired from 1984 to 1985.
