Escultura de la Mare de Déu
Sculpture of the Virgin found in the Mare de Déu del Mont Church. It dates back to the 15th century and retains part of its polychromy. We can see the image of the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus sitting on her lap. She has a sceptre in her right hand and a book in her left. The details of the folds of the clothes are interesting, along with other details that can be appreciated such as the blue stars scattered over her tunic. Its use in the church was decorative and as an object of worship for the church’s parishioners and it is currently part of the permanent collection displayed at the Girona Art Museum.
